The Social Media Conundrum

Musk gives what may be a Nazi salute at Trump’s inauguration. Zuckerburg decides to remove fact checkers. Amazon don’t pay enough tax…….. anywhere. And, to cap it all, they’re all rich as Croesus!

And yet, billions of people, including me, use the companies owned by these people. They are all backing Trump and hoping to make even more money on the back of his presidency. Musk is aparently considering butting into British politics by backing Farage, obviously with the hope of making still more money. The content on social media platforms has been blamed for fanning racial division, radicalising terrorists, promoting denial of the climate crisis and propagating conspiracy theories that, in another age, would be laughed at. However, because of the way the conspiracies are spread, they can become facts. I hate them……………… until

  1. Agree with you absolutely Peter. Love all three of them. You might be interested for next year that Leyland Road Church hosted a S & G concert round November time – 2 local lads from Chorley – Tin Chu and Ian Bailey ? – wonderful stuff and they excelled themselves with the harmonies. They were keen to come back next year.
    Tony.
