Walk on with hope in your heart!!

Today has been a very good day! I finished the marathon distance of 26.2 miles for the sponsored walk for Prostate Cancer UK and so I’ve increased the target mileage for January to 52.4 miles. Please note, this doesn’t mean that all you very generous people who have donated have to double your donations!

But, just in case………………. Here’s my Just Giving page

I’m going to keep on going through January and then continue, knees willing, through the rest of the year.

I am hoping to do 2 walks outside of Lytham next week, Rivington and the Rag Pudding walk at Edgworth. These will be on Monday or Friday depending on the weather. If anyone fancies joining me, please let me know and I will firm up the details. Rivington will be packed lunch. Edgworth might be lunch in the Black Bull……….. but don’t tell Heather!

The following week I’m looking at a walk from Martin Mere and the walk around Stocks Reservoir from Slaidburn.

More importantly personally, I’ve just had the results of my latest PSA test and it’s current;y 1.77. This is good because the rate of increase has slowed and it’s the trend of the results rather than the number that is the important bit. It shows that the medication is working OK and that the increase in the volume of red wine I consumed over Christmas helped slow down the rate of increase (perhaps?!>!).

Bad news is restricted to the fact that dry January only lasted untill last Friday!! I think we are having dry January week days and keeping Friday evening till Sunday evening wet.

The news is still generally too depressing to comment on. I would really love to be excited by our government, but, unfortunately, I’m not. It’s a jolly good job that Arne has slotted in so well at Anfield. (Did you see what I did there!!)
