I, like many people around the world I’m sure, have been watching in amazement as the 2 gentlemen in the picture to the left, have been moulding the USA into a land fit for billionaires, while claiming to be working for ordinary people.
What would worry me is that only one of these guys has actually been elected and the other one seems even more deranged that the elected one.
One, admittedly, relatively unimportant result of this is the effect on my Facebook feed. Over the last 6 months or so, I have been deleting posts from various daft groups and I had got to a point where most of the posts were actually of some relevance to me. Until now.
Now I seem to be getting loads of posts from various rabidly right wing organisations or groups who would call themselves evangelical Christian, telling me how renaming the Gulf of Mexico is somehow going to solve the world’s problems, so I’m spending my morning tea time deleting stuff.
It reminds me of the Beethoven joke, about seeing him sat on his gravestone, after his death, crossing out music notes. Yes, he was decomposing!
Our PM and his cabinet seem to be going out of their way to humour Trump and keep on his good side. Can I suggest that the only thing that will stop tarifs being imposed on British goods is allowing hormone fed beef and American style healthcare into our country. As someone with a vested interest in the NHS, and a huge lack of interest in buying meat with even more weird additives than currently, I don’t think we should be even thinking of trying to keep on Trump’s good side. I’m not sure he has one.
