My Little Lancia Delta S4

Lancia Delta S4

After much shouting and banging, I finally reached a point where I, sort of, finished My Little Lancia Delta S4. It isn’t brilliant. The rear engine cover is not removable and the front and rear suspensions are a bit wonky. Luckily, as the engine cover is not removable, the bodge job on the engine is mostly hidden by the intercooler. The bodywork, however, looks quite cool and the picture of the car posed in the Italian (I think) Alps, courtesy of Nano Banana, is ace!

Considering I shed so many tears over the thing, I’m semi-pleased with it. See my previous post HERE.

The Featured Image

I’ve tried a bit of photo editing using AI before and, providing you give it the right information, it usually does a pretty good job. I think I’m currently on Gemini 3 and I have limited free access to Nano Banana Pro.

I asked that the background of the original photo be changed to a mountain road and about 3 minutes later this appeared. However, when I asked it to place the car in front of Lytham Windmill, it didn’t do as well. The grass was totally out of proportion to the car. Still it does a much better job than I could do and does it infinitely more quickly.

Health Issues

The dieting is continuing. At the start of week 4 of the 8 Week Blood Sugar Diet, my weight has dropped from 96kg to 92.3kg and my BMI has fallen so that I am just overweight rather than obese. All good so far.

Heather and I are both on the diet and, just for once, I’ve commited to it. We haven’t cooked potatoes or rice since we started and we’re keeping off bread. Luckily we both love vegetables and fruit. The recipes in the diet can look very weird, but pretty much all are OK and quite a few will make their way onto the regular menu Chez Draper.

My appointment with the diabetes crew at the doctors is on the 16th when I hope to have dropped below 90kg. In old money, that will mean I will have lost about a stone!! Hopefully then I can afford a bit of a blowout at Christmas and then get back on the diet afterwards. Ultimate aim is 85kg. I can’t go any lower in case I have to buy a new wardrobe. I’ll presumably get a blood test on the 16th which will, I hope, see back to pre-diabetic and get the medics off my back!

Wish me luck!!!
