Update!

Ages since I blogged. I keep promising myself I’d do this more often but, it’s a bit like New Year’s resolutions! What prompted me this time is that Google seem to have lost all my posts after May 27th 2016 ( A super day and night in Atapuerca with Larry & Desi and Joe and Mary). My, what a lot has happened since then!
Above is where I’m at medically. Opening PSA, which I seem to have missed off was 562 and the latest PSA is actually 9.3. I’m feeling well and, people tell me, looking well too. The only problem I can’t shake is a continuing lack of stamina. Our hopes of doing the Camino again have gone. I can walk one day but need a rest the following day. I go out on my bike, but currently 8 or 9 miles is the maximum, and I need a sleep afterwards.

Just over 12 months ago I suffered a detached retina which required a 2 hour op under local anaesthetic to put right. (Unpleasant!). I’m pretty much OK now but my eye is changing more rapidly as it recovers from the op, so it’s costing me a fortune in glasses! I can still drive, read and use the computer (obvs), but I have to be a bit careful going down stairs or rough paths ‘cos depth perception is a bit wonky sometimes.
Enough of all this!! My amazing family are all doing well and my 2 grandsons ( one in Uni and one in Nursery) are brilliant! Heather as most of you will know has taken up watercolour painting and is really good. Andy and Gill are both nursing injuries so not running much/at all. David and Sarah are enjoying their new house in the |Lake District and we all join them from time to time to enjoy it too.

Travel insurance has proved difficult to find for me so we’ve been retricted to holidaying in the UK this year, but as usual, we’ve had a great time with many lovely meals out!

And…….. we’ve moved! We are now in a lovely flat in Lytham St. Annes. We can see Southport across the Ribble estuary, but it takes about 45mins to get there, so now we’re only 10 minutes from Andy and Gill, so much more convenient for Josh sitting.

So that’s about where we’re up to. I’m sure when Heather reads this she’ll tell me all the things I should have added, but if you want further info just comment on this or email, text, phone, Whatsapp or whatever. If anyone is in Lytham, it would be lovely to see you.
I promised when I started this that I wouldn’t say anything political and, amazingly, I’ve succeeded!
Love this, and, given the last few years happenings, quite appropriate for Heather and I
