Wild in the Country – Bow Wow Wow

After a lovely evening of Shakespeare the weather returned to normal so didn’t do much for a few days. We did, however, discuss the walk we did last week and decided to compare and contrast with a walk on our own this week. We headed to the Wyre Valley at Scorton and walked up to Dolphinholme and back.

The River Wyre near Dolphinholme

I have to say, the river is a lot prettier here than at Fleetwood! The Ramblers are a wonderful organisation, but when Heather and I go for a walk we go to look at stuff like trees, flowers, birds, scenery and so we are constantly stopping and starting, but the Ramblers walks seem to be walking purely for the sake of the walk. I’m not sure if we and the Ramblers are a good fit.
Lunch out on Thursday with old friends. It’s great to catch up.
There was a comment on the last post re Rory Stewart’s book “Politics on the Edge”. Yes Shirley, I have read it and thought it was brilliant. It was also quite annoying to read of the haphazard way jobs are doled out. I think Stewart’s idea of keeping ministers in post for a specific period rather than chopping and changing as happened under the last Tory administrations is a great idea. Having said that, allowing any of the right wing of the Tory party near any job for any length of time seems like a recipe for disaster to me!
