My little Lancia Delta S4 has been keeping me busy recently, so I haven’t had time to post. I have to say that things are not going well. I suspect it’s a combination of my ineptitude and the fact that the model is not particularly well made and the instructions leave a bit to be desired.
Anyone who makes plastic models will know that they generally fall into one of two categories. Either they are ridiculously easy and done very quickly or they are incredibly fiddly and take ages. Usually I prefer fiddly and a bit of a challenge, but this one has been ridiculous! The instructions for the front and rear suspension were unclear so both needed dismantling and rebuilding………. twice! The bodywork is in 3 sections. The front cowling doesn’t appear to fit properly over the suspension and the bodywork around the cockpit is going to take a bit of bodging to make that fit.
I think I’ve decided to build the bodywork as accurately as possible and then make the undercarriage fit. It might involve having bodywork with wheels and leaving out the engine and suspension. OH POOH!!

In other news, I am officially diabetic so I’m frantically dieting prior to my meeting with the diabetes nurse in December. However, this was interrupted slightly by an afternoon at the rugby with 2 sons, a grandson and the grandson’s flatmate plus 3 pints of beer. I was also out in Southport for a meal with some good mates on Thursday.
Nothing much to add to this. Winter appears to have come, although it is slightly less cold than it was last week.
