Hey now baby, get into my big black car

So, I open the Guardian App this morning while drinking my cup of tea and see the above headline and I wonder “What is going on??”

Who is this speaking? Is it David Cameron or Theresa May or Boris Johnson or Liz Truss or Rishi Sunak (have I missed any?)? No! It’s our Labour Prime Minister.

As we all know, slashing red tape has been such a good idea in the past. Grenfell, environmental issues, pollution in rivers, deregulation of the banking sector, privatisation……. all this good stuff had at its core the desire to ‘slash red tape’ and much of it, but sadly not all, was foisted on us by Tory governments.

What is going on? No wonder I’ve started hiding in the sports pages again!

    Mere Sands Wood Walk

My December, Mere Sands Wood, walk with the Southport guys was to be a familiar one. We started at Fettler’s Wharf, Rufford. • Father’s Day

On Sunday I did Junior Park Run and then Mummy, Daddy and I went walking to a place called Nicky Nook. It’s a hill with a weird white stone on the top, which Dad called a trig point. Apparently it tells everyone how high a place is – not sure how. In case you missed…
